Welcome to our monthly blog designed to keep you up to date with the latest tips, products, and trends in the hair industry.

It’s officially May, which means not only is baseball in full swing (pun absolutely intended), but so is frizzy hair…and we HATE frizzy hair, don’t we?? Well, my goal for this month’s blog is to tell you alllllll about Cezanne Keratin and Hair Botox and how they can help with your day to day styling routine. I can hear you guys now, “uh, Lain, hair BOTOX?? You’re crazy!”. I promise, it is a real thing and it’s super cool!!

But, first things first, though…

Hi! I’m Alaina (@alainabuccinohair) and one of my favorite things (besides sports, of course) is doing keratins. I love just how much of a difference maker it is for hair and for clients’ lives. Often, I hear, “OMG you must have the patience of a saint to be able to do this!” because, while it is somewhat tedious and a time consumer, it is worth it every single time. And the part I love the most is that it is for any and all hair types (and YES, my curly girls that even means you!). As far as keratins go, there are three types:

Instant Keratin

This one is pretty dope because you can get a haircut while it processes and who doesn’t love a good time saver?? The instant sits for twenty minutes, you get rinsed, then comes the blow out and flat iron and you are on your way! You are in the salon for about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. It lasts for up to six weeks, so if you are weary of the idea of keratin, this is a great introduction…I promise, you’ll be hooked after that ;).

Express Keratin

This one is a middle-of-the-road version. The process takes a little bit longer than the Instant (about an hour and a half to an hour and forty-five minutes), but it lasts for up to 10 weeks.

What should you do if you want a keratin treatment, but you want to protect your color-treated hair? You should use our Cezanne Express Keratin Treatment, which moisturizes your hair while strengthening the keratin complex in each strand. It works for all hair types, from straight hair to textured and curly hair.

Classic Keratin

This one takes approximately three to four hours and lasts for up to five months. That might seem like a decent chunk of time to be in my chair, but then you don’t have to worry about frizz for quite some time. This one is my personal favorite because it really shows the frizz who’s boss.

One of the best parts about our keratin?? There aren’t many rules you need to follow, as compared to other brands. The only rule is that you use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner (and for my curly girls, most of your products already are). So, that means that you can clip your hair up, throw it in a pony and even work out following your appointment. You also can wash it as soon as you want, but I think we all love freshly styled salon hair. All of that sounds perfect, right?? Well, if you still aren’t convinced, I have one more reason that might just drive the point home. You Can Swim With It!! If you are anything like me, you love the ocean and the pool. Sure, laying out with a book is fun sometimes, but the water is where it’s at!!! Pretty cool, huh??

Hair Botox

Okay, okay, I’m sorry, I know you have been DYING to know about the Hair Botox, sorry to keep you waiting.

The Hair Botox has a few different targets. The first one is that it helps damaged hair, whether that be from heat or chemicals. It can also help with hair thinning and dryness. It contains vitamins that make the hair look, feel, and smell AHHHHH-MAZING!!!! It lasts for up to five weeks. And the shine that comes with it is out of this world. This process is super easy, as well. You come in, I shampoo you and apply The Botox, you sit under heat for twenty, I rinse you, blow you out, and flat iron you. It usually takes about an hour to complete. This is also a great beginner step, if you are not yet ready to dive into the keratin world, or you feel like your hair is dry and dull and in desperate need of some help. And, while it is not as strong as a keratin might be, it still helps with the pesky frizz. And, of course, my curly girls can get this service done too. Sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner is also recommended with the Botox, as well as waiting 24-hours before shampooing (or longer, no judgement, I go like eight days).

I know that sometimes services like keratins can be super scary because we’re nervous it’s going to be pin straight, flat to our head, or we’ll lose all of our curl pattern. But, I promise you, that will not happen. The Cezanne Keratin’s priority is to kill the frizz and save YOU time, so you can do better things with your day than break a sweat blowing out your hair (been there, done that, no thanks!). And, of course, The Hair Botox is another great option to get your feet wet.

I totally understand if you’re unsure of any of these things, so feel free to contact the salon (info@patriciaperrysalon.com) and I can help answer any and all questions you may have!

Okay, well, I’m finishing this up right before the NFL Draft so I gotta run, but I hope I can help you get silky, smooth hair soon!! Peace out, girl scouts!
